The Mayor and Mayoress will attend a VIP reception in the Council Chamber at City Hall, Sunderland, at 5.35pm, as guests of Brigadier Mark Wilson MBE, Rifles Regional Colonel North. Following the reception, they will process to High Street West, where the Sounding the Retreat will be performed by The Band and Bugles of The Rifles.

The Mayor and Mayoress will join veterans from the 4th Regiment Royal Artillery for their annual reunion evening at Street Bar, 1-5 Low Row, Sunderland, at 7.45pm. 

Saturday 6 June 2026

The Deputy Mayor and Deputy Consort will attend a Volunteer Celebration Event in the Council Chamber at City Hall, Sunderland, at 10am. During the event, the Deputy Mayor will deliver a short speech recognising and thanking volunteers for the vital role they play in supporting local communities.

The Mayor and Mayoress will attend the 4th Regiment Royal Artillery Reunion Memorial Service and 
Parade at 1pm. The service will take place at the War Memorial on Burdon Road, Sunderland, where the Mayor will lay a wreath. Following the service, they will join the regiment for a reception at The Gunners Club, 10-11 Mary Street, Sunderland.

Sunday 7 June 2026

The Mayor and Mayoress will join members of Sunderland's Filipino Community at a Family Fun Day taking place in the City Space Building at the University of Sunderland on Chester Road at 1pm. The Mayor will offer a welcome to everyone and take part in the activities on offer.
