Planned System Maintenance - Limited Service

Sunderland City Council will be carrying out planned system maintenance from 12 noon on Friday 5th June until 7am on Tuesday 9th June. During this period, we will only be able to respond to urgent enquiries. If your enquiry is not urgent, please contact us before or after these times when full services will be available. We apologise for any inconvenience caused and thank you for your understanding.

A civil ceremony is a non-religious ceremony performed by one of our experienced Registrars. If you are planning a religious ceremony, your chosen venue may also request you book a Registrar to attend the service. More information is available on the Get married or form a civil partnership page.

Check the Registrar's availability to perform at your ceremony before confirming the booking with your chosen venue.
Book one of the ceremony rooms at City Hall.

We recommend you book early to ensure that a Registrar is available on your chosen date.

Fees

All ceremonies excluding those in the statutory Register Office, will require you to pay a non-refundable booking fee.
