Sunderland City Council publishes the details of all payments we make which are over £500 (including VAT), showing who we paid, how much we paid, and what this was for.
Certain payments in relation to the above are excluded:
This information is included in a report showing all invoice payments over £500 that the council has paid during the relevant period. The reports show a number of columns of data which are explained in the table below:
|A||Local Authority||Name of council making the payment|
|B||Directorate||The directorate responsible for spending the money|
|C||Service Area||The service area responsible for spending the money (Service Reporting Code of Practice)|
|D||Service Division||The service division responsible for spending the money (Service Reporting Code of Practice)|
|E||Expense Type||General heading that describes the type of expenditure|
|G||Supplier Name||The name of the recipient of the payment|
|H||Transaction Number||The unique number to identify the transaction within the council's financial management system|
|I||Payment Date||The date on which the payment was made|
|J||Expense Category||Distinction between revenue and capital expenditure|
|K||Amount||Net amount paid to the supplier (that is, excluding recoverable vat)|
The report may raise questions, if you want to know more about any of the payments please e-mail Invoices500@sunderland.gov.uk quoting the transaction number, the supplier and the amount you are querying. We aim to provide a response within fifteen working days.
We are publishing the data in two formats. The PDF format is the easiest format to read the data in, but does not allow the data to be analysed or sorted. If you wish to do this then you should use the CSV format. This allows you to put the data into a spreadsheet. However, the CSV format uses a standard column width and not all entries will be completely visible. To view all of the data, you will need to expand the columns. You can do this by selecting all of the cells in the file (click on the grey box beside column A and above row 1), and then clicking on Format - Column - AutoFitSelection.
The data is freely reusable and Sunderland City Council grants you a non exclusive licence to use, copy and adapt the licensed content under the Terms of the Open Government License for Public Sector Information.
