Mayor's fundraising
Another important role of the Mayor, a one that the Mayor is always very enthusiastic about, is supporting a few local charities and good causes.
Each year the Mayor promotes their chosen charities and good causes and raises funds for them by hosting charity events throughout their year in office.
The Mayor for 2026-27, Councillor Robert Hutchinson is supporting Veterans in Crisis, Sunderland Headlight and Pawz for Thought. Each of the charities are close to the Mayor's heart and they all rely upon donations to help fund their services and allow them to continue to support residents and animals in the local community.
