Certificates purchased through our standard service are £11 each and are posted within 10 working days of payment being made. All certificates are posted 1st class via Royal Mail however we have been informed by Royal Mail that there are delays in the distribution of post, so delivery date cannot be guaranteed.
Fast Track certificates
A fast track certificate service whereby a certificate is guaranteed to be posted out the next working day if purchased before 3pm is available. Certificates ordered and paid for after 3pm are guaranteed to be issued 2 working days later. This costs £35 per certificate. All certificates are posted 1st class via Royal Mail however we have been informed by Royal Mail that there are delays in the distribution of post, so a delivery date cannot be guaranteed.
Please note the Fast Track option is an online service only.
All copy certificates are 'certified copies'. They are the same as the certificate issued upon initial registration. If you have been asked for an original copy of a certificate, it is likely that a 'certified copy' will suffice.

- Telephone Life and family ensuring you have a debit card to hand when placing your order
- Write to Sunderland Registration Service with as much detail as possible about the names and the event that will allow us to identify the register entry. Please enclose the appropriate fee (see below) and a stamped self-addressed envelope. Address your envelope to Sunderland Registration Service, Civic Centre, Burdon Road, Sunderland SR2 7DN. Cheque's or postal orders should be made payable to 'Superintendent Registrar'
