Learning and Skills Services
The Council's Learning and Skills Services aim is to help people by offering courses that build your confidence and develop your skills and talents. The Team works with local training providers to deliver a range of courses suitable for all needs.
To be eligible learners need to be 19 or above, and free courses apply to those unemployed or on low incomes. To find a course for you click here

Learn my Way has free courses for you to learn digital skills to stay safe and connect. The site is friendly and easy to use. To find out more information click here
National Careers Services
The Careers Service have developed The Skills Toolkit provides you with access to free courses to help you learn new skills or change jobs. Courses available relate to maths; computer essentials; personal growth and wellbeing; personal growth and wellbeing; professional development; business and finance; digital design and marketing; computer science and coding.
Second steps into digital skills and qualifications
Sunderland City College
If you are over the age of 19 and looking for a brand-new career you can take your digital skills to the next level. Courses last six weeks, training is free to those working, recently unemployed within the last 12 months or looking for work in the UK. You don't need to be an expert in the subject, but you do need to have a good level of digital skills already. To find a course for you click here
