Nuisance vehicles

A nuisance vehicle is not an abandoned vehicle and could be any of the following:

  • Poorly parked
  • Causing an obstruction (such as parked on a pavement or grassed area)
  • Involved in residential parking disputes
  • Broken down
  • Untaxed
  • When two or more vehicles belonging to the same registered keeper are parked on a street (within 500m of each other) in order to be sold or repaired by a garage or other business

To report a vehicle that is causing a nuisance, please contact us.

When dealing with nuisance vehicles the council will firstly try to establish ownership by making enquiries with neighbours, local businesses, the police and the DVLA. Nuisance vehicles cannot be removed under abandoned vehicle legislation, but there are acts that can be used to remove an abandoned vehicles
