Discretionary Housing Payments Scheme (DHP)

The 2025-2026 Sunderland City Council Discretionary Housing Payment scheme ended on 31 March 2026.

The council has developed the new Crisis and Resilience Fund - Housing Payments which replaces Discretionary Housing Payments from 1 April 2026. For more information please see our Crisis and Resilience Fund page.
