Need support or want to help?
We've put together a range of support to help our residents and communities stay safe and well throughout the coronavirus outbreak.
You might be self-isolating because:
- You have any symptoms of Covid-19 (a high temperature, a new, continuous cough, or a loss or change to your sense of smell or taste)
- You have tested positive for Covid-19
- You live with someone who has tested positive or has symptoms
- Someone in your support bubble has symptoms or has tested positive
- You're told to self isolate by NHS Test and Trace
- You're arriving in the UK from a country with a high risk - see Gov.uk advice: https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/coronavirus-covid-19-how-to-self-isolate-when-you-travel-to-the-uk/coronavirus-covid-19-how-to-self-isolate-when-you-travel-to-the-uk
If you are self-isolating this means you should not go to work, school or public places, use public transport or taxis, go out to get food or medicine, have visitors to your home except for people providing essential care, or go out to exercise.
If you need to access shopping or medicine, you should order online or by phone, or ask someone to safely bring it to your home.
If you need to get food delivered while you're self-isolating there are a few options:
1. Online shopping
Check your nearest supermarket to book shopping for home delivery. If you're booking a delivery because you're self-isolating your supermarket may ask you to provide this information so they can make sure the shopping is delivered safely.
2. Shop local
Remember, many local shops near to you such as greengrocers and butchers may also be offering home delivery services. You'll need to visit their website or call them to find out what options are available.
Asda - registration required for online shop and delivery (charges may apply)
Co-op - limited stores with online shop available (Shiney Row) or spend £25 in store to qualify for free delivery
Iceland - registration required for online shop and delivery (charges may apply)
Morrisons - registration required for online shop and delivery (charges may apply)
Sainsbury's - registration required for online shop and delivery (charges may apply)
Tesco - registration required for online shop and delivery (charges may apply)
Heron Foods - spend £20 in store to qualify for free delivery (Concord and Houghton le Spring only)
You can use a range of different websites to order an NHS repeat prescription for home delivery. Find out more from the NHS: https://www.nhs.uk/using-the-nhs/nhs-services/pharmacies/how-to-order-repeat-prescriptions-online/

If you can offer support, you could help with things like shopping, delivering food parcels or collecting prescriptions and medicines.
You'll be able to offer support if you fulfil all the conditions below:
- You are well and have no symptoms like a cough or temperature or loss of taste and smell, and nobody in your household does
- You are under 70
- You are not pregnant
- You don't have any long-term health conditions that make you vulnerable to coronavirus
The only people who are legally prevented from volunteering with children and vulnerable adults are those who have been barred from doing so by Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS). Please familiarise yourself with the government's guidance on safeguarding and DBS while volunteering during the outbreak.
You can call us on 0800 234 6084 and we'll take some details before matching you with someone in your local community, or complete the short form below and we'll be in touch. Thank you for deciding to offer your help!
