I was first elected to serve as Councillor for Hendon Ward – the part of Sunderland where I was born and brought up and in May 2008. I was proud to be re-elected to serve the communities of Hendon, the East End and Grangetown in 2012 and again on 5th May 2016.
Since March 2018, I have been Deputy Leader of the Council, having previously served for 4 years as Cabinet Member for City Services. I am also proud to support a range of community groups and organisations across the whole ward. I am also Vice Chair of Governors at Hudson Road Primary School.
If you have any concerns you would like to raise with me, I hold a Ward Surgery each month (except August & December) at 4:00pm at Carnegie Community Corner (former Hendon Library), where you can come and speak to me in person. Please get in touch with me for the date of the next surgery.
Alternatively, I am easily contactable via email (above), and via my Facebook page: @cllrmichaelmordey or the telephone (above).
