Who is this course for?

Residents of Swan Lodge who want to gain confidence in cooking, to learn different baking methods and how to stay safe in a kitchen

What will I learn on the course?

You will build confidence and skills in baking and work on a range of skills, like:

  • Using food bank ingredients
  • Using baking ingredients
  • Using bakeware
  • Staying safe in a kitchen

How will I learn?

Your tutor will support you to set appropriate targets at the start of the course to guide your learning. They will offer a range of activities, such as direct teaching, discussion and tasks to develop your skills and knowledge. Throughout the course your tutor will assess you by looking at your work, asking questions and observing you bake.

What next, after the course?

You could progress onto a higher level cooking course, update your CV and seek volunteering roles.
