Small Business Grant Fund and Retail, Hospitality and Leisure Grant Fund Schemes

Small Business Grant Fund (£10,000)

£10,000 grants for the smallest businesses (i.e. those receiving Small Business Rate Relief).

This applies to all sectors of businesses who occupy a non-domestic property.

This is being administered by Sunderland City Council's Business Rates team. The Council is working as quickly as possible to ensure the grants are paid directly into your business bank account.

Please complete this Covid-19 Business Rates Grant Funding Scheme form if you think you are eligible so we can validate your business information and verify your business bank details. Some information on the online form is mandatory, and grants will not be able to be processed without this information. Wherever possible, please provide all of the information requested on the online form (even if it is not marked as mandatory) as it will help the Council to make payments to eligible businesses as quickly as possible.

The Council will contact you if further information is required to enable your application to be considered.

Retail, Hospitality and Leisure Grant Fund (£10,000 or £25,000)

The process is the same as that for the Small Business Grant Fund. In addition, for those eligible businesses that occupy and pay business rates for more than one property, please complete a separate Covid-19 Business Rates Grant Funding Scheme form per property as the grants are paid on an individual property basis.

In addition to the business rates relief awarded for properties in this sector, for those businesses or organisations with a rateable value of up to and including £15,000 a grant of £10,000 is available with a grant of £25,000 being available for those with a rateable value of more than £15,000 but less than £51,000.

The Council will contact you if further information is required to enable your application to be considered.
