Cancellation of Penshaw Bowl and The Active Sunderland Festival
Following careful consideration, we have taken the difficult decision to cancel Penshaw Bowl and the Active Sunderland Festival, which was due to take place at Herrington Country Park on Thursday 9 April.
We understand that this news will be disappointing but hope everyone will appreciate that the health and wellbeing of our communities is at the forefront of our decision making process. We look forward to welcoming everyone again next year.
Cancellation of Sunderland Airshow and Sunderland River Festival
In response to the current situation, we have regretfully cancelled this year's Sunderland Airshow and Sunderland River Festival.
This year's airshow was due to be held on Friday 24 July, Saturday 25 July and Sunday 26 July. It would have been the 32nd airshow.
The second Sunderland River Festival was due to be held on the weekend of Saturday 15 and Sunday 16 August.

Sport England is running a #StayInWorkOut campaign highlighting the importance of staying active even when you're indoors and encouraging participants to share their own workouts using the hashtag.
Active Sunderland is also offering tips and information on staying active while social distancing on its social media pages, including ideas for how to exercise in your home.
