Buy Sunderland First

Buy Sunderland First is a scheme from Sunderland City Council which seeks to ensure that local businesses are given the opportunity to bid for Council opportunities.

Registration is free and gives businesses the opportunity to provide information about the goods, works and services they provide.

As of 1 July 2016, the council is now using the NEPO Portal system for all quotation and tender opportunities.

There are a number of reasons why the council has moved to the NEPO Portal for quotes, including:

• Increased opportunities for Sunderland suppliers who may receive tender and/or quote invitations from other North East local authorities.
• Increased functionality for council buyers and suppliers.
• Improved account management as suppliers will no longer require two accounts to bid for council opportunities.
