Sunderland
Volunteer Mentoring Service offers vulnerable young
people advice and support from an older, more experienced
person, providing a protective factor against peer pressure
and other pressures in the young person's life.

The Phoenix
Community Fire Safety Project promotes personal and
social development through the teamwork skills of direct
involvement in the tasks of a fire fighter. It reinforces
the importance of family and promotes values of responsibility
to others.

Barnardo’s
SunGate Parenting Project assists parents/carers of
10 to 17 years old children, or from 8 years if referred
thought the Youth Inclusion Support Panels (YISP). They
aim to reduce youth offending and non school attendance.
SunGate offers a wide range of services which can be tailored
to suit individual needs.

Ontrack
is a project aimed at 4-12 year olds, living in North
Washington, who are vulnerable and it need.

The Positive
Futures Scheme, operating in the Southwick Area, aims
to tackle social exclusion among 8-19 year olds. It diverts
young people from offending and substance use by encouraging
participation in a wide range of sport and recreational
activities. |

Wear
Kids is a free voluntary support scheme for Young
people aged 8-13 and their families in Sunderland, and
helps young people stay out of trouble and prevent anti
social behaviour.

The Sunderland
Anti-Bullying Strategy has
been developed as part of Sunderland Children Fund. Sunderland
Youth Offending Service has worked on a number of projects
in collaboration.

North Washington
Youth Inclusion Project, a
partnership with Crime Concern, offers a range of indoor
and outdoor activities to promote social inclusion, increase
educational attendance and attainment and reduce youth
offending.

Sunderland
Youth Offending Service have a RAP
scheme, which provides additional resources to work
with young people leaving custody who have an identified
substance misuse problem.

Tackle
It is a scheme that works in partnership with Sunderland
AFC to provide an educational football project to young
people across the City of Sunderland
