Youth Justice Plan
A copy of the Sunderland Youth Justice Plan Summary for 2007-08 is available to download from the Publications page>>.
A copy of the 2008-09 Summary is expected to be available to download by the end of September 2008.


ISSP Projects
In May 2008, the ISSP ‘Skills for Life’ project received national recognition from the Howard League for Penal Reform. The ISSP ‘New Direction’ project also received national recognition from the Howard League for Penal Reform, winning one of their top three awards as a ‘scheme of outstanding merit’.

Scaled Approach to Youth Justice
The Youth Justice Board for England and Wales have announced major changes to the Planning and Performance Monitoring requirements for YOT’s. The YJB are introducing a Scaled Approach to Youth Justice which will compliment changes in sentencing proposed by the Criminal Justice and Immigration Bill.

YMCA Residential Day
On 15th February 2008, Sunderland Youth Offending Service Prevention practitioners took a group of young people to the YMCA Lakeside on Lake Windemere for a residential day, the aim of which was to involve young people in the recruitment and selection process for Children's Services staff.
