Welcome to the Youth Offending Service Web Site

image of girlSunderland Youth Offending Service offers a number of services. These have been outlined below:

  • Preventative Services: Sunderland Youth Offending Service works with young people who are at risk of offending.
  • Pre-court Services: This involves working with young people who have offended for the first and second time
  • Court Services: There are a number of court services which include Appropriate adult services
  • Supervision in the Community: When a young person receives a community based court order, we supervise them
  • Custodial Services: We work with young people to support young people serving custodial sentences.

Sunderland is a Beacon authority for Reducing Re-offending (2008 - 2009) - As a Beacon authority for Reducing Re-offending we are committed to sharing our practice and learning with others working in the field of reducing re-offending. We will do this by hosting local and national events, publishing case studies of innovation and working on specific issues with local authorities and/or partners who feel they can learn from our experiences. Application for Inclusion on standing List of Providers -
Sunderland Youth Offending Service is seeking expressions of interest from organisations that wish to be included on a standing list of providers that can deliver a range of services to young offenders, or young people at risk of offending. The standing list will be in operation until 31st May 2011 and shall involve the delivery of arts based activities, and/or outdoor adventurous activities to young offenders, or young people at risk of offending.
