Battery Recycling

Battery recycling facilities currently exist at Beach Street and Campground Household Waste Reception and Recycling Centres.  These facilities have been expanded and household batteries can now be accepted at these locations pdf (pdf icon 16kb)

The Customer Contact Centres will cater for dry cell household batteries, which covers all forms of alkaline, NiCad and lithium batteries including:

1.5 volt AA
1.5 volt AAA
1.5 volt C type
1.5 volt D type
9 volt PP3

Car batteries and acid based batteries generated by householders can be taken to Beach Street or Campground Household Waste Reception and Recycling Centres.  Trade premises are advised to speak to their own waste management contractors.
