In this section we hope to help you find useful information and advice about dealing with a crime.  Also, we outline the services and facilities available in the Sunderland area.  

Under the Crime & Disorder Act 1998, the Police and the Local Authority, in co-operation with others, have to draw up a three year strategy to reduce crime and disorder.  In Sunderland a range of organisations has joined together to form the External Link Icon Safer Sunderland Partnership to undertake this task and to work in co-operation more effectively reduce crime and disorder.  The Safer Sunderland Strategy 2005 - 2008 (pdf document 1163kb) is available online.
