The Corporate Policy Team assists the City Council and the Chief Executive in the strategic management of the authority.

The Corporate Policy Team:

  • Co-ordinates the City Council's Strategic Planning Process, including the production of the Sunderland Strategy, the Corporate Improvement Plan and the Local Area Agreement (pdf 413kb)
  • Co-ordinates various initiatives and working groups including Local Public Service Agreements and the Strategic Planning and Performance Management Working Group
  • Manages and assists the development of the City of Sunderland Partnership
  • Provides a Research and Information facility for the Council
  • Monitors, reports and provides briefing papers on new central government policies and initiatives
  • Monitors and provides briefing papers on Regional and Sub-Regional (Tyne and Wear) issues.
