Parent Book Collections
Books for children and their parents, aimed at children from birth to school age, picture books for information about life eg 'My first Visit to the Dentist' and also books on children's health for parents to borrow. 

Telephone Directories
All libraries have Regional Telephone Directory & Yellow Pages.  City Library & Arts Centre, Fulwell, West, Houghton and Washington libraries all have larger collections of telephone directories.

Community Noticeboards
All libraries have noticeboards displaying what's on, in your community and in the City.

School Class Visits
Teachers can arrange class visits to libraries by contacting the library direct.  Classes can then have a look round the library and borrow books.

Self Issue Systems
To help speed up issuing books, you can use the self issue systems available in the following libraries:

City Library & Arts Centre, Washington Town Centre ,Bunny Hill, Washington Millennium Centre, Sandhill View and Houghton.

Ethnic Collections
Some libraries have books available for the ethnic minority.  If you would like to borrow some of these your local library can request them for you.

Leaflet Ordering and Distribution
Libraries have DSS leaflets available at all branches.  If a leaflet is not available they can order it for you.
