News and Events.

National Year of Reading - 2008 is the National Year of Reading which is a national campaign to help build a greater love of reading, highlighting the benefits that reading for pleasure and purpose can bring to people of all ages. In the coming months all libraries in Sunderland will be holding a full programme of events to help people discover the joy of books and reading.  This months theme is Screen Reads where the links between film and literature are explored

E-Plus - As part of a continuing commitment to meeting the needs of customers, each Library in Sunderland will be conducting a computer user survey during the week beginning 10 November 2008. Throughout the week library staff will be asking those who use computer facilities to complete a questionnaire asking them what they think of the computer services that libraries provide for them

Silksworth Library is currently temporarily relocated at Silksworth Community Centre.
