Call Centre Training

Sunderland is one of the fastest growing call centre locations in the country. Major league companies attracted by the superb range of premises, state-of-the art technology and a high quality workforce, have created thousands of jobs between them over the next few years. Many of the centres operate shift systems and are staffed by full-time and part-time workers who are renowned for their warm and friendly customer service.

City of Sunderland Council is funding the development and delivery of CCT Call Centre Training, to ensure that a highly skilled LOCAL workforce is available to fill the vacancies created by the call centre companies. Designed in partnership with local call centres, this nine week course aims to equip unemployed people living in the City of Sunderland with the specialist skills needed to work in a call centre. CCT Call Centre Training ensure that the needs of the industry are catered for and that local people can successfully compete for the jobs that are being created.

If you live in Sunderland and:

  • Are out of work, receiving benefit, a college leaver, or looking to return to work after a break
  • Have good use of the English language- written and spoken- and basic mathematics
  • A minimum typing speed of 15 words per minute

Course details

Duration: Nine weeks

Venue:

  • City of Sunderland College, Teleport, Doxford Park
  • Northern Training, Crowther Industrial Estate, Washington

Attendance: Part-time over 2 or 3 days a week

Lunch: provided free of charge

Transport: Day Rover tickets issued on a weekly basis

Dress: Smart
