Customer Satisfaction - You Said, We Did

Comments received about excessive heat in City Library and Arts Centre during summer months.
Provision of cold drinking water machines and extra cool air fans.

Customers at Silksworth commented about the build up of rubbish and weeds around the library grounds.
Grounds Maintenance section was contacted and more regular maintenance is now carried out.

Customer requested that Large print books be better displayed.
Shelving was re-arranged so that some titles were displayed face on.

A Library customer requested that borrowed items could be returned to any service point across the City.
The installation of the new Library Management System now enables customers to do this at a number of libraries, and will apply to all service points by the end of 2006.

Concerns were raised about the level of noise and activity on the main library floor at the City Library and Arts Centre.
A public access PC is now available in the Local Studies section which is in a quieter environment.

A customer at Fulwell Library was concerned about a special offer on the loan of CD's that he felt was not good value for money.
A different offer on the CD's was offered at smaller service points.

Sound and Vision
A library customer requested the music to be turned off in Sound and Vision as it affected her hearing aid.  As a result of this request staff have placed a notice inviting people to ask staff to turn the music off if they have similar problems.

Customer Compliments
Thank you lovely assistants, very helpful.  I got some great information.

I would like to record my sincere thanks to staff for their assistance in helping me trace my great, great grandmother and grandfather who are buried in Bishopwearmouth Cemetery.

I would like to thank the library for providing a craft course on silk painting which I very much enjoyed. Craft courses give you the chance to try something new and if you want you are able to carry on at home as a hobby. With courses you meet like minded people and it help keep your mind and hands active. Many thanks

I would like to thank Local Studies as they have assisted me in so many ways, answering my queries, sending me information, old maps and census copies. I am unable to visit Sunderland very often so the information which you send is very much appreciated.
Best wishes to all.
