  • Promoting, Developing and Maintaining Public Rights of Way
  • Closure and Diversion of Public Highways
  • Managing Private Street Works 
  • Administering Private Street Works Code
  • Administering New Road and Street Works Act 1991
  • Administering Enforcement of Highways Act 1980
  • Contributing to Regional and Sub-Regional Transport Polices and Programmes
  • Integrated Land Use and Transportation Policies and Proposals

We also provide highway and other engineering advice in relation to New Developments, including:

  • For Development Control and Planning Guidance

  • Adoption of Highways and Public Open Spaces

  • To 3rd Parties on New Developments

  • To Council Departments on New Developments
