TranslationWelcome to our Translation section of the website
The primary languages in use in Sunderland apart from English include Bengali, Cantonese, Hindi, Punjab and Urdu.  Currently we also have a number of Asylum Seekers resident in Sunderland, and our research shows that the most common languages in use by these people are Farsi and Kurdish, therefore we have included these languages.

Currently the Council offer the following pages in each of the respective languages -

Bengali   Bengali   Kurdish   Kurdish
Chinese   Chinese   Punjabi   Punjabi
Farsi   Farsi   Urdu   Urdu
Hindi   Hindi

We are investigating ways to make this facility more widely available and welcome any feedback on this matter. Translation

In addition to this you can translate any page on the Sunderland website into more languages using the free facilities provided by BabelFish. These deal predominantly with European languages, but may include a second language of your choice.

Select the required language below and the home page (and all subsequent pages), will be translated into that language. Please allow for a brief delay as the translation takes place.
