The primary languages in use in Sunderland apart from English include
Bengali, Cantonese, Hindi, Punjab and Urdu. Currently we also have a number

common languages in use by these people are Farsi and Kurdish, therefore we have
included these languages.
Currently the Council offer the following pages in each of the respective languages

We are investigating ways to make this facility more widely available and welcome
any feedback on this matter.
In addition to this you can translate any page on the Sunderland website into
more languages using the free facilities provided by BabelFish. These deal predominantly with European languages, but may include a second language
of your choice.
Select the required language below and the home page (and all subsequent pages),
will be translated into that language. Please allow for a brief delay as the translation
takes place.
The Council does not accept any responsibility for the free translation
provided by BabelFish.
The translation is understandable but not perfect.
