What is AskRecruitment?
AskRecruitment is intended to be the Council's dedicated Recruitment telephone number delivered by the Contact Centre. The service will provide a single contact number for general recruitment queries and requests for Information Packs of currently advertised jobs.

Are all Council jobs advertised under AskRecruitment? Most of our posts, but not all are being processed this way. It is therefore, important when considering applying for a post to check the contact details for that post and follow the instructions given.

What can I expect from an Information Pack under AskRecruitment? Your pack will include as a minimum the following information:

Post Guidance Information Sheet
Job Description
Person Specification
Application Form
Post Reference Number
Applicant Reference Number

The standard information pack contents for posts under AskRecruitment will be available on this site. However, where additional information is included in the pack this will be stated and you will need to ring AskRecruitment to request the full pack

What is the Applicant Reference Number? You need to register your details with AskRecruitment when applying for a post. You will be given a unique Applicant Reference Number for each post you apply for. You will need to write this Applicant Reference Number on your Application Form in the appropriate places. Using the Applicant Reference Number allows us to identify where you are in the recruitment process quickly and also ensures applicant anonymity in the recruitment selection process.

What are the opening times for the Contact Centre?
Monday - Friday 8.00am until 6.30pm

I've seen a post I wish to apply for on this site, what do I do next? Telephone or email the contact details for that post. If you are using email to request an Information Pack please make sure you identify the Post Reference Number which you are applying for and include your full postal address

Guidelines and Useful Information

If you are applying for a post under AskRecruitment you must register your details on Telephone No. 0191 5205504 to receive your Applicant Reference Number. If you have all the information to hand from this site and do not require them to send you an Information Pack, please tell them this during your call
