News and Events

Head Space - Hendon Library hosts a mental health book chat group. Members of this group meet on a monthly basis (2nd Friday of the month 10am to 11.30am) to discuss the book they have all read.  The books are provided by the Library Service and members receive copies one month in advance in order that everybody has time to read them. Please contact Hendon Library for further information.

Visually Impaired Reading Group - If you are interested in becoming a member of Washington Town Centre Library’s Visually Impaired Reading Group please complete the questionnaire (PDF logo 30kb) or ask at any library.

Singing Histories -  Celebrate Sunderland's Musical Heritage with the Singing Histories booklet which details some of the old songs of Sunderland, please see the leaflet (PDF logo 10mb)

Customer Service Centre and Library - Washington -  Residents and visitors can explore, enjoy and discover a world of knowledge right on their doorstep following the opening of the newly redeveloped Library and Customer Service Centre in Washington Town centre on Monday 1 June.  For more information visit Customer Service Centre and Library - Washington. From Monday 1 June Washington Green and Washington Millenium Centre will revert to their normal hours.
