Welcome to Language Point - Sunderland’s Interpretation and Translation Service

language pointLanguage Point is the only provider of interpretation and translation services in Sunderland.  Its objective is to offer affordable quality professional language support, thus enabling public services and private organisations to provide equitable services to non-English speaking clients.

Interpretation and translation services are delivered by a pool of sessional workforce. All staff undergo a strict selection procedure and have nationally recognised qualifications in community interpretation / translation. Their development is continuous and needs-based, and professionals are encouraged to take part in this process.  Language Point Interpreters and Translators will provide you with an impartial, accurate and culturally sensitive service in both languages used in communication

Language Point requires a simple and user-friendly procedure to be followed when booking an interpreter or translator. Further details on Language Point are contained in this leaflet (pdf pdf 44kb).

Language Point publicises information about its performance through Annual Reports. A copy of the Annual Report 2007/08 will be available here shortly.

If you would like to be added to the Language Point mailing list, to be kept up to date with the latest news and information, then please send your details and email address to languagepoint@sunderland.gov.uk
