Recycling of Green Waste and Timber

The fortnightly Green-it system has been implemented citywide for households with gardens that cater for the majority of green garden waste.

Our Household Waste and Recycling Centres have facilities to help you dispose of your bulky garden waste and timber which may not fit in your Green-it bin in an environmentally friendly way.

Please deposit your garden waste and timber in the separate containers provided on site.

Your garden waste will be made into soil conditioner and timber into chipboard.

This important service helped us reach our targets of recycling 18% of waste collected in 2005/06 and 20% in 2006/07
