Larger home extensions - neighbour consultation procedure
Until 30 May 2016, householders will be able to build larger single-storey rear extensions under permitted development.
The Planning Online Search Facility is an online browser application that allows individuals to access details of Planning Applications received by the council since 1 April 1974.
The Planning Enforcement Team regulates development and use of land, which have not obtained planning permission.

Sunderland City Council is the Lead Local Flood Authority and has responsibility for consenting works that affect the flow of an ordinary watercourse under the terms of the Flood and Water Management Act 2010, Land Drainage Act 1991 and Water Resources Act 1991.
