UK's biggest pop festival returns to Wearside

Breaking news for North East Live...

The summer gets hotter with new acts added to the North East Live Festival - step forward Katy B, Neon Jungle and Rixton.

Jessie J, Jason Derulo, Rizzle Kicks, The Saturdays, The Vamps, Union J and more take to the stage at Sunderland's Stadium of Light.

Sunderland's Stadium of Light is to play host to the North East's biggest ever pop event, as AEG Live brings the phenomenal summer music event back to the region, as part of its wider UK Live events.

Following on from the success of 2013's North East Live event, some of pop's biggest acts will come together for the one day festival at the home of Sunderland AFC.

Headlining the festival is the sensational Jessie J, who will be joined in the line-up by fun-loving hit makers Rizzle Kicks, top UK girl band The Saturdays and teen sensations The Vamps and Union J.

Alongside them, Jason Derulo will be jetting in from the USA to play his only outdoor UK tour dates for 2014.

Further announcements of additional acts will follow soon - see SAFC Concerts and UK Live for all the latest news.

The family-friendly music extravaganza, designed to suit music fans of all ages, will take place on Sunday 22 June and demand for tickets, which are priced from just £25, is expected to be high.

Tickets will go on sale at 10.00am on Saturday 14 December (full ticket information detailed below).

SAFC Commercial Director, Gary Hutchinson, said: "Naturally we are absolutely delighted that the event is coming back to the Stadium of Light. Last years' North East Live was a fantastic event, so it's great to be working with AEG again on what proved to be such a hugely successful format.

"There is great line-up already in place for 2014 and its one that I'm sure will appeal to a diverse audience. The show really does have something for everyone and it's an affordable price for what will be a great days' entertainment."

AEG Live Promoter, Sam Bush, said: "After last year's hugely successful inaugural event, we are absolutely delighted to be back at the Stadium of Light.

"It's a fantastic line up and North East Live 2014 is going to be bigger and better than ever."
