Sunderland City Council is committed to listening to, and acting upon, the views of the local community.

All services within the Council carry out consultation in order to make sure that they meet the needs of local people. Asking the people who use our services and other residents is an important way of finding out what we are doing well and what we are doing badly - so that improvements can be made.

Below are details of some of the major surveys that we undertake which provide us with important information on the views of local residents and help us to identify priorities for improvement.

Residents' Panel
Sunderland City Council also has a residents' panel which is called Community Spirit. The Community Spirit panel is made up residents of all ages and from all areas of Sunderland. Panel members are invited to give their views on a range of important issues that affect residents.
