Customer Services

Customer Services are the first point of contact for Sunderland City Council, and our underlying principles are that services should be:

Accessible - to those customers who wish or need to use these services, giving a greater choice of access and at a time that is convenient time for the customer.

Relevant - to the customers needs rather than those of the service providers.

Efficient - Not only in terms of the time and effort but also cost. With these underlying principles in mind we are developing our service centres, ICT systems, the skills of our staff and our business processes.

We are becoming a city which delivers 21st century services for our community.

We have a Contact Centre and nine Customer Service Centres with highly trained Customer Service Advisors who can offer information and advice on Council services.

We have street based Kiosks around the city and we can be contacted easily by email.

We offer a home visiting service for residents who cannot visit the Council and we have a customer service mobile unit that travels around the city ensuring that you, the customer, now has a wider choice of access to the Council.
