Sunderland libraries Literature Festival, our annual celebration of the written word, has something for everyone.

The programme features many local artists, authors and local themes, with highlights including the Quiet Compere, Nancy Revell, Mary Ann Cotton - Angel of Death, History Wardrobe present the Red Ribbon and Spectral Visions Book Launch. A celebrated programme for adults and children, readers, writers and illustrators.

The Quiet Compere session on Saturday 21 October features poets Sarah L Dixon, Harry Gallagher, Judi Sutherland, Laura Lawson and Pippa Little.

The majority of the events are FREE, although donations are welcome. If you need further information about any event or the event requires booking, please enquire at the venue where the event will take place.

If you haven't been to the festival or a library service event before, look through the programme and try something new. You'll be surprised at what's on offer. We are using local venues, so you should be able to find something near to where you live.
