Brush up on your maths or English skills
The City Library and Arts Centre is to host literacy and numeracy drop in sessions delivered by Northern Learning Trust.
The sessions will begin on Friday 19 March and will take place each Friday between 9.30am and 12.30pm in the Activity Area. Northern Learning Trust are also running courses at Hetton and Sandhill Centres. Initially, the courses will run for 10 weeks and the sessions are free and are open to adults aged 19 and over. Learners will work towards a qualification in English, maths or both.
Family Tree taster sessions using Ancestry
Receive advice and support in first steps to tracing your family tree using the Ancestry website at the:
City Library and Arts Centre - Last Tuesday of the month from 2.30pm to 3.30pm
Washington Library and Customer Service Centre - First Thursday of the month from 2.30pm to 3.30pm

North East Festival of Learning
A Learning Revolution is taking place at libraries in the North East from January to March 2010 and you can be part of it. Simply call in to your local library to enjoy a whole host of learning opportunities. Whether you've always wanted to dig up your family tree, get keyed up about IT, or turn over a new leaf and join a reading group, the Learning Revolution is for you.
