STAGE ONE (2003 – 2004)
The first stage of the Project was aimed at engaging and raising ICT awareness of members of the Community Development Network who would then become the first Community e-Champions. They were provided with the necessary technologies training and support, in order to participate at LSP level and also to engage others with ICT not only in their own organisations but within the wider community. They then, through continual networking, were able to raise awareness of the project and to engage other potential Community e-Champions.

Stage 1 SRB Outputs Reported:
Jobs Created 1
Training Weeks Delivered 20.6
Voluntary Organisations Supported 39

STAGE TWO (2004 – 2006)
The second stage of the Project aimed to facilitate further networking of the Community e-Champions by providing continued technical support and training provision for both the Community e-Champions and their organisations. In response to feedback received from Project beneficiaries the Team designed the Equipment Loan Scheme, where Community e-Champions can request additional laptops, data projectors and facilitation from Project Staff at events, presentations etc. Stage 2 also saw the further development of the CDN Website providing an Internet based environment to assist in community activity and promotion, to access information and services tailored to the specific needs and interests of the Community e-Champions and Community Development Network. In maintaining this “virtual community” the Project succeeded in facilitating dialogue between the individuals on issues of common interest. The website continues to provide a resource which can be tightly focused on community and individual needs, supplying rich, interactive and adaptable information and services to the users.
