The City's Countryside Team work to protect the countryside and
give you the opportunity to explore and care for it through public events, volunteer projects and information leaflets.
We also co-ordinate the work of voluntary agencies and specialist contractors working in the environment and support the management of Sites of Special Scientific Interest and Local Nature Reserves in the City, in liaison with local people and land owners and conservation organisations. You can contact the Countryside Team at the Development and Regeneration Directorate, Civic Centre, Sunderland, SR2 7DN. Tel. 0191 561 8773. Email: countryside@sunderland.gov.uk
