This is my eighth year as a Councillor in Millfield and was first elected as a Councillor for Pallion Ward back in 1988. In May 2017 I was appointed as Deputy Cabinet Member for Children’s Services and in this role I will be focussing on looked after children, adoption, fostering, vulnerable young people and child protection issues.

Education has always been important to me and I was a governor at St Aidan's RC School from 1997 to 2012 and at Diamond Hall Junior School from 2012 to 2016. I left when they both converted to academies.  In April 2017 I was appointed by the LEA to be a governor of the specialist Pupil Referral Unit based at Farringdon School but serving families across the city.

My background is quite varied - I consider myself to be a community activist and work as a fundraiser and project manager.  I am proud to represent all the diverse communities that make up Millfield Ward irrespective of whether people are long-term local residents or newly-arrived students at the University.

I have been the chair of the committee at St Mark's CA since 2010 but have supported the project for more than 20 years.

I hold Ward Surgeries with my colleague Cllr Lynda Scanlan on the following days :-

First Tuesday of the month - 10.30 am, Residents room near Astral House (Except August)

Third Thursday of the month – 5.30 - 6.30 pm, St Mary Magdalene Church (Except August)
