I was first elected to serve as Councillor for Hendon Ward – the part of Sunderland where I was born and brought up, on May 1st, 2008. I was proud to be re-elected to serve the communities of Hendon, the East End and Grangetown on May 3rd. 2012.
Since May 2012 I have held the position of Cabinet Policy Member for City Services as well as serving on various community organisations such as Hendon Young People’s Project, Young Asian Voices, the East Community Association, Raich Carter Sports Centre and Back on the Map. I am also Vice Chair of Governors at Hudson Road Primary School as well as serving on the governing body of Valley Road Community Primary School.
If you have any concerns you would like to raise with me, I hold a Ward Surgery on the first Wednesday of the month (except August) between 5.00 p.m. and 6.00 p.m. in the Back on the Map Hub, 25 Villette Road, Hendon, where members of the public can come and speak to me in person.
