Need a hand paying your rent or Council Tax?

Many people say they don’t claim Housing Benefit – help with rent; or Council Tax Benefit – help with Council Tax, because it’s too complicated or they don’t think they’ll be entitled to anything.

But we have made it easier. One free phone call is all it takes to find out if you can save money. We will give you an instant decision based on your individual circumstances and income.

If you qualify, you need to make a claim.  You can do this by printing and returning one of the following claim forms or contact us and we'll post one out:

  • Claim form for people under 60 years of age (pdf document 311kb). If you have a partner, both of you must be under 60 years of age to use this form.
  • Claim form for people aged 60 years or over (pdf document 305kb). If you have a partner, only one of you must be aged 60 or over to use this form.
  • Claim form for people receiving Pension Credit (pdf document 25kb). If you have a partner, only one of you must be receiving Pension Credit to use this form.

If you have difficulty getting to your local benefit office or Customer Service Centre, we can arrange a home visit.
