1998 Index of Local Deprivation

For comparison, some information has been provided here relating to the previous 1998 Index.

Comparisons can only be effectively made on the basis of rankings, as the scores on the 1998 Index were made on the basis of quite different indicators and statistical techniques.

This also needs to be considered when drawing any conclusions about real shifts in the pattern of deprivation over the intervening period.
