Go Green with Sunderland City Council |
|
Sunderland City Council is encouraging people to ‘Go Green' by supporting Communities and Local Government’s ‘Connect To Your Council Day’. Residents can easily access information on green issues and a wide range of services, by using the environment friendly method of logging on to the council’s website. Sunderland residents have a range of ‘green’ council services available to them online on the FixIt page, where they can report flytipping, request a Kerb It green box or find out information on recycling services. Sunderland’s online payments service allows residents to pay for a whole series of different services instead of travelling to the council offices and queuing at a counter to be served. At the touch of a button, residents can do anything from paying their council tax or for home support and day care services, to settling a planning fee bill or even buying a fishing licence. More information can be found on the online services pages. The council's website also has information on sustainability, climate change and how Sunderland has become a Fairtrade City. There is also information on how travel plans can help promote cleaner and greener travel.
