| PUDSEY TO PARTY AT POOL |
|
| Sunderland Aquatic Centre will host this year's BBC Children in Need celebrations in the North East and Cumbria. The Aquatic Centre, which has proved hugely popular since it opened in April, will host 'Pudsey's Party at the Pool' a fun filled evening of celebrations on 14 November 2008. The celebrations will also feature on BBC One’s Children in Need Appeal night. Plans for the event are still being finalised, there will be something for everyone with a range of events both inside and outside the Aquatic Centre. The Centre will also act as the regional collection point for fundraisers who will be taking part in fundraising activities in the run up to Children in Need and on the day itself. The 2008 BBC Children in Need Appeal is on Friday 14th November. The theme of this year’s Appeal is "Do Something Different" and the BBC is asking people to take up the challenge. Doing Something Different doesn't mean anything difficult, expensive or scary; it just means doing something outside of normal routines which will help raise money. Every penny raised will go towards projects helping disadvantaged children and young people across the UK. For a Fundraising Pack, click on the link below or call 0345 607 3333. The 2007 appeal raised £37million. BBC Children in Need Appeal is a charity registered in England and Wales (802052) and Scotland (SC039557).
