Food in Schools - Funding
The first two years of the Food in Schools Programme were funded by the DfES transitional school meals funding and targeted all schools across the city. From August 2008 funding will come from 'Choosing Health' and the programme will see a change in direction. A targeted approach will be taken to promote healthy lifestyles and the programme will include:
  • Increasing physical activity
  • Promoting healthy eating
  • Working with parents
  • Engaging communities
  • Improving cookery skills
  • Training staff

The Food in Schools Team look forward to working with you in the future to continue the good work being done in schools across Sunderland to improve our county's health.
