Children's Fund logo Sunderland Children's Fund is a partnership between Sunderland City Council, the voluntary sector, health services and local people with Children's Services taking the lead. 

The underpinning principles of the Children’s Fund (Partnership, Prevention and Participation) aim to give all children an equal chance in life.
The Fund will continue to consult with children and families over the life of the programme, to find out their needs, whatever their background or their circumstances to help them: 
  • Be healthy
  • Stay safe
  • Enjoy and achieve
  • Make a positive contribution
  • Achieve economic well-being

Sunderland Children's Fund has developed services aimed at children aged 5-13 and their families. These services include: 

  • Anti-Bullying Strategy
  • Involving Children and Families
  • Young People's Counselling Services

  • Home/School Partnership
  • School and Family Nuturing Programme
  • On Track
  • Play Together
  • Healthy Schools
  • Wear Kids - Youth Inclusion and Support Panel (YSIP)

In the long term the fund aims to improve school attendance, improve children's performance at school, reduce youth offending, ensure fewer children are at risk of becoming victims of crime and improve the health of children and families. It aims to make services more accessible and effective and build the capacity of local people to sustain services in their communities.
