The main aim of reader development is to enhance reading experiences and open up choices to all. The idea is to encourage, initiate, develop and promote library services to all of the people of Sunderland.

Events and Activities
Murder Inc.
Join authors Sheila Quigley and Ken McCoy who will be talking about ‘Murder Inc’ and how they started writing, their experiences and motivations. They will also be reading extracts from their latest books.

For Adults
The Blue Bell Reading Group
This group was formed as part of National Year of Reading celebrations. The group is very new, having only met since May 2008, but is a chance to read and discuss books with other book lovers, who cannot meet during daytime for various reasons. The group meet at the Blue Bell Pub, Fulwell Road, Sunderland on the first Tuesday of every month 7.30- 9.00pm.
