Sunderland Sports Fund

What is Sunderland Sports Fund?

Sunderland Sports Fund is a charitable trust fund which raises money to provide financial aid for Sunderland’s talented young sports people and disabled sports people of all ages.  We award grants to talented individuals who reside, attend schools, college or university, or represent a sports club or organisation within the Sunderland area.

How Can Sunderland Sports Fund Help?

Providing a talented young sports person meets the required criteria, the Sunderland Sports Fund Awards Panel can assist with financial contributions towards the following:

  • Coaching fees
  • Specialist equipment
  • Travel expenses to competitions
  • Accommodation expenses to national competitions

How Can I Apply for Financial Aid?

Its easy. Complete an application form and return it to: Sunderland Sports Fund, PO Box 377, Sunderland, SR4 0JL.

Part 2 of the application form must be signed by the applicant if 18 years and over, or if younger than18 years, it should be signed by the applicants’ parent or guardian.

Part 3 must be signed by a club or governing body official or school teacher.

How Will I Find Out if My Application Has Been Successful?

Once your application is received it will be held on file for the next Awards Panel meeting (the Awards Panel meets 3-4 times per year). You will be contacted by letter in the week following the meeting, and informed whether or not you have been successful, and how much you have been awarded. At the same time, you will be invited to a Presentation Event, where you will be presented with your award.
