Sunderland City Council has a clear short and long term vision for tackling Health Inequalities, linked to our place-shaping ambitions for the regeneration of the city.

We have developed a range of innovative strategies to promote "wellness", including the "wellness" centre, and strong branding for the wellness approach, comprehensive referral for exercise on prescription across 100 per cent of GP practices, and pathways for whole family lifestyle intervention.
