Easington Lane Development Framework |
|
The Easington Lane Development Framework was produced following several enquiries and planning applications for development in Easington Lane. The purpose of the document is to guide and inform development within four sites highlighted in the Unitary Development Plan as being suitable for significant housing. These sites are Lyons Avenue, Murton Lane, Forest Estate and the site of the old Easington Lane primary school.
The purpose of the Development Framework is to ensure high quality development is achieved by providing a detailed analysis of the four sites, setting out design principles and policy requirements. A public consultation exercise was carried out in August and September 2004. This gave the public, statutory consultees, community groups and local businesses the opportunity to express their views on the proposals. The Framework was subsequently revised to reflect comments that were made during the consultation period and was adopted by the City Council as Supplementary Planning Guidance (SPG) in February 2005. This document is now used as a material consideration in the determination of planning applications in this location.
